Today (27 May 2022) H.E. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh attended the 27th Nikkei Future of Asia Conference held at Tokyo through virtual participation.
It may be recalled that Hon'ble Prime Minister attended the 25th Nikkei FOA Conference in 2019. Leaders, business persons, academicians and civil society participants attended this year's conference held in a hybrid form.
Presidents from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Lao PDR and Prime Ministers from Bangladesh, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia attended the event either in virtual or in-person.
The topic of the 2 days international conference was on "Redefining Asia’s role in a divided world".
The participation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina informed the global audience of Bangladesh's remarkable performance in managing the Covid-19 pandemic, economic and future outlook. She also made some recommendations to the forum for future cooperation of Asian countries to avoid division or conflict.
